   Hi Maryam,

   Thanks for your message. Getting a scholarship largely depends on your level of study. Since university education is usually free in Finland, there are generally few scholarships available at the undergraduate or Master’s level. This university web site might help answer some of your questions.

   If you are a doctoral student, there are many more options for funding. Many doctoral students are employed through projects, others are funded through major or small grants (it varies by discipline). However, competition is fierce and you need to get in contact with a potential supervisor first, and then look at funding options. The best way to do this from abroad is to browse the university web site to find a department that has professors in your area, and then send some emails to see if they are taking new doctoral students.
