Mission

Tsemppi is the Organization for International Degree Students at the University of Helsinki! We are part of the University of Helsinki’s Student Union and represent international degree students studying at the University! When starting a degree at the University of Helsinki, international degree students face a number of diverse issues: from getting information about their degree programmes, where to find housing, and how to start to integrating themselves into life in Finland, and life as a student at the University.

The primary goal of Tsemppi is to make the life of international degree students easier and more enjoyable. We seek to provide the information to new students that we ourselves would have found useful when we were starting a degree at the University of Helsinki. We also seek to represent the interests of international degree students when it comes to current issues dealt with by the student union.

We of course also like to have fun! Tsemppi holds many events during the course of the year. Be sure to check out our international dinner nights, Finnish in a Bottle, game nights, crafts nights, and of course our meetings!
